DOR vs Bandicam: Free Game Recorder Comparison (2026)

Choose based on whether you want games recorded automatically or prefer to fine-tune high-resolution and webcam recording yourself.

If you want every match recorded automatically the moment you launch a game, free and without a time limit, DOR is the better fit. In 7 games, including League of Legends and VALORANT, kills are also turned into automatic clips you can share with a dor.gg link. If you are a YouTube creator who needs up to 4K at 480 FPS, a webcam overlay or flexible screen recording beyond games, paid Bandicam has real strengths. Bandicam's free version caps each recording at 5 minutes, so long matches need a license.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What are the limits of Bandicam's free version?

According to Bandicam's official FAQ, the free version of Bandicam 2027 limits video and audio recordings to 5 minutes each. Recorded videos have no watermark, but edited exports do. The free versions of Bandicam 2025 and 2024 allow 10 minutes per recording and add a watermark. Buying and activating a license removes the limits. DOR is free with no recording length limit and no watermark.

Do I press F12 to record in DOR, like in Bandicam?

DOR works differently. It detects supported games when you launch them and records the whole match, so no record button or hotkey is needed. The hotkey (F9 by default) is only for starting and stopping recording outside games.

Does Bandicam have better video quality?

Bandicam officially lists recording up to 4K UHD at 480 FPS with NVIDIA, Intel and AMD hardware acceleration, so it is the better pick if you want fine control over resolution and frame rate. DOR uses NVENC hardware encoding by default on NVIDIA graphics cards and focuses on saving your matches with no setup.

Can I use it on Mac?

DOR is a Windows desktop app, so it does not run on Mac. Bandicam offers a separate Mac app for macOS 13 or later in addition to its Windows version.

Can I use DOR and Bandicam together?

You can install both, but two recorders running at the same time share your PC's resources. A simple split is DOR for matches and Bandicam for webcam tutorials or other screen recording.
