As checked on 8 September 2026, the next Clash is the Summoner's Rift Bandle City Cup: team creation opens on 14 September and the tournament itself runs on 19-20 September, local time. To play it you need three things on your account, all at once, which are summoner level 30, a completed ranked placement in a Summoner's Rift ranked queue either this year or last year, and SMS verification. On top of that, every one of your five players has to submit at least one ticket before the team can play. Clash is a five-player tournament that runs once a month, so team creation opens on the Monday of Clash week and the actual games are split across Saturday and Sunday. Riot also states plainly that dates can move and that you should always check in-client for the latest information, so treat the table below as a planning guide and confirm the final date in the Clash tab. If you still do not have five people locked down, sort out eligibility here first and then move on to the Clash team finder guide.
So what should you actually do now
There is a clear order to this. First, check eligibility before anything else. If someone is under level 30 or has no Summoner's Rift ranked placement from this year or last year, no amount of team preparation gets them into a Summoner's Rift Clash. The ARAM cups are the exception, since they only ask for level 30 and SMS verification with no ranked play at all, so a roster with an unranked friend is better off aiming at the October Piltover Cup instead. Second, do the SMS verification today rather than on the weekend. One phone number links to exactly one account, and unlinking starts a six-month wait from that moment, so a number already burned on a smurf will block this month outright. Internet phone numbers such as VOIP lines are rejected as well, which catches people out on the day. Third, confirm before the night of the tournament that all five players hold a ticket, because a single missing ticket stops the whole team from locking in. If your roster is not settled yet, gather the players first through the ranked flex team finder and come back to this checklist afterwards.
Final check before lock-in
- All five players at summoner level 30
- For a Summoner's Rift cup, a ranked placement from this year or last year on every account (not needed for ARAM cups)
- SMS verification done for everyone, with a backup number ready for anyone on a VOIP line
- At least five tickets secured, and the team agreed in advance on Basic or Premium
- Team name, tag and logo set, with duplicate logos checked for the chroma unlock
- This month's lock-in opening and your team tier confirmed in the in-client Clash tab

What your team does during Clash week
- 1Check the three entry requirements — Summoner's Rift Clash asks for level 30, a completed Summoner's Rift ranked placement from this year or last year, and SMS verification. ARAM and ARURF Clash only need level 30 plus SMS verification, with no ranked play required. The FAQ also states that an account that finished last season unranked cannot enter Clash, so confirm your own eligibility in the in-client Clash tab.
- 2Finish SMS verification — Open the Clash tab, go to the team screen, click the confirm SMS button next to your name, enter your country code and phone number, then type in the code you receive. The same verification is also available from the settings menu. VOIP numbers are refused, and each phone number links to one account only.
- 3Create the team on Monday — Team creation opens on the Monday of the tournament week. The captain invites and removes players and sets the team name, tag and logo. If two or more members already own the same logo, that logo's chroma unlocks, so compare owned logos with your teammates before the captain finalises the choice.
- 4Get five tickets ready — Every player has to submit at least one ticket. Tickets come in Basic and Premium versions, and the only difference between them is the tier of rewards you can earn. You get them from missions, from teammates as gifts, or from the store, and one Clash mission per two tournaments awards a ticket. Check current prices in the store.
- 5Get everyone online for lock-in — The lock-in window lasts two hours and opens by tier. Tier IV can lock in for the whole window, tier III from thirty minutes in, tier II thirty minutes after that, and tier I only during the final thirty minutes. The ticket type is decided the moment the full team locks in and cannot be changed afterwards.
- 6Play the bracket and collect rewards — Each bracket is an eight-team single-elimination run, with a separate consolation bracket for teams that lose their first game of the day. A team plays one bracket per day with a locked roster, and even playing a single day earns that day's top reward. Win all three games and you take the bracket trophy.
Keep the whole Clash day on file for next weekend
A Clash day is a single bracket of up to three games, with a consolation bracket if you lose your first game, and both /pause and /remake are disabled, so when a call goes wrong there is nothing in the game to rewind. That makes having your own footage genuinely useful. DOR is a free Windows desktop app that detects supported games automatically, records the full match on its own, and cuts highlights such as kills into separate clips that land in the in-app library. It uses NVIDIA NVENC hardware encoding by default, so leaving it running from draft bans through to the Nexus exploding stays light, and it records game audio and your microphone together, which means you can hear exactly how a crossed call happened instead of arguing about it. Once the bracket ends, open the browser clip editor with no install, trim the moments that mattered, and share a dor.gg link so teammates can watch straight from a mobile browser. That turns Saturday into a review you finish before Sunday's bracket. Pair it with the League of Legends hub and how to record League of Legends for the setup details.
Sources and how to verify this yourself
Every date, requirement, ticket rule and lock-in offset above was read from Riot's official support documents on 8 September 2026. The Clash FAQ carries the yearly schedule table, the entry requirements, the tier lock-in order, the VP thresholds and the end-of-bracket reward contents. The Clash SMS verification article covers the number linking rules and the verification flow step by step. Reward numbers change from act to act, which is why they are not reproduced here: read this month's VP thresholds and capsule contents from the reward tables in that FAQ. Those two pages were last updated on 8 May 2026 and 23 May 2026 respectively, and they still disagree with each other on points such as the Honor level requirement, so do not treat either statement as settled and follow what the in-client Clash tab tells you. A sensible verification order is this: read the official FAQ for the overall structure and eligibility, then open the Clash tab in the client to see this month's dates and when your lock-in window opens, and finally look at the team screen to confirm every player's ticket and verification status. Dates and reward contents can change with updates, so check again during tournament week.
