If Delta Force keeps crashing or will not launch on PC, the official guide does not name a most-common cause; it gives an order to work through. The guide's order starts with fully closing the game, restarting the PC, updating the graphics driver through NVIDIA, AMD or Intel's official route, then running file verification on Steam or Epic (or Repair in the official launcher). This article follows the guide 'Basic Settings & Technical Support | Delta Force Guide' (dated 2026/09/18), checked on October 6, 2026, and covers the PC version only. If you also want the spec and storage numbers, see Delta Force system requirements.
Symptoms and error codes the guide covers
| Symptom or error | First step the guide gives | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Crash while shaders load | Close the game and restart the PC, update the graphics driver officially, verify files or use Repair, then close overlays, recording tools and GPU-tuning tools | If it still crashes, contact Customer Service instead of force-launching repeatedly or replacing individual files. |
| Black screen after launch, stuck loading, freezing | Start with the shared first pass: status pages, full close, restart, updates, free storage | If it repeats, note the error code, exact screen, mode, map and time. |
| ACE (1-1704-40017228) | Close the error window, fully exit Delta Force and sign in again | This is the first step listed in the guide table. If it repeats, include the code and time in your ticket. |
| ACE (1-0-0), ACE blue screen | Another program may be blocking a required security component; close the conflicting software if you identify it, then restart. For a blue screen, restart the PC and look for programs that interfere with security checks. | Do not install 'ACE repair' tools or bypass guides. Only if asked, compress the dump files in C:\Windows\Minidump and send them through the official ticket. |
| DLL, .exe or Base.dll error, 193 | Run the platform's file verification or the official launcher's Repair, and reinstall from the official platform if it remains. For 193, remove any older test client, install the current version and add the official game path to your security software's allow list. | If 193 names a file such as TDataMaster.dll, put that file name in your ticket. |
| 203 (CreateProcess returned) | Run Steam as an administrator and launch the game through Steam. If security software blocks it, add the official installation path to its allow list. | The guide does not tell you to run the game's own executable as administrator. |
| SailSDK 2020002 / 2026000 | Launch from the official launcher or platform client, not directly from a game .exe; remove an older test client and install the current one. On Steam, also test running Steam as an administrator. | If 2026000 continues, remove the older client first, then install and launch through the official website client. |
| -1400030 (graphics-driver error) | Update the graphics driver through NVIDIA, AMD or Intel's official route, then restart the PC | In a ticket, include the download channel, driver versions before and after, a screenshot and the launcher log. |
| 7812013 (file creation failed) | Check free space on the installation drive. If security software blocks the path, allow-list the official install folder; if it still fails, uninstall and reinstall to another drive with enough space. | Storage figures are split by source in the tip below. |
| ID 4 / 28, Login component internal error: 39 | ID 4 and 28 may be connection problems: restart the game, device, router or modem, and use a wired connection on PC if you can. Error 39 can appear when Delta Force Global is not available in the region you connect from. | Do not use location-masking tools. For a code that is not listed, send Customer Service a screenshot of the full message. |
Bottom line: an order, not a ranked cause
The bottom line is that the official guide gives you an order rather than a ranking of causes: note where the failure happens, work down the shared first pass, and move to Customer Service if it persists. The guide also says not to install modified clients, copied game folders, unofficial launchers, APKs or third-party 'fix' tools. It refers to Delta Force Global; other regional versions were not verified. If the game only closes while you are recording, troubleshooting games that crash while recording is a useful companion. Everything here reflects the guide as of October 6, 2026.
Crash and launch troubleshooting order
- 1Note where the failure happens — The guide's first instruction is to identify where it fails: before the logo or at launch, while shaders load, on the login, resource-download or lobby screen, while loading into a match, in a specific mode or map, or after a display, device or network change. Jot that down. It tells you which row of the table above applies, and it is exactly what support will ask.
- 2Run the shared first pass — Check the official Delta Force and platform status pages, fully close the game rather than leaving it suspended, and restart the device. Confirm the game and platform system software are updated and that you have enough free storage. If the problem began after an update, let the client finish its resource download and restart once more.
- 3Update the graphics driver and Windows — This is the second step in the guide's shader-loading crash list. Update the graphics driver through NVIDIA, AMD or Intel's official software or website, and confirm Windows and the game client are fully updated. The guide says not to use driver-download sites or third-party driver tools.
- 4Verify game files or use Repair — On Steam, restart the PC and open Steam, right-click Delta Force in your Library or use the gear icon, then choose Properties, Installed Files, Verify integrity of game files and wait for it to finish. The guide relays Steam's note that some local config files may fail verification as normal, and that alone does not mean the install is broken. Do not run several verifications or other heavy disk tasks at the same time. On Epic Games Store, open Library, select the three dots beside the game, then Manage and Verify. With the official website client, make sure it is fully updated and use Profile, Settings, Download, Repair if that option is available. Do not use repair files or launch commands from community posts.
- 5Close overlays, recording and GPU-tuning tools — Close overlays, recording tools, GPU-tuning tools and other demanding applications, then launch from the platform or launcher you normally use. If the problem is stutter rather than a crash, the guide's Performance section says to close downloads, streams, cloud backups and browser tabs, lower Basic Graphics Quality and Frame Rate, and test in a real match, changing one setting group at a time.
- 6Intel 13th or 14th generation CPU: read the announcement — An official announcement dated January 10, 2025 says frequent crashes during shader compilation, random in-game crashes or exits caused by insufficient video memory may come from instability in Intel 13th and 14th generation processors. It describes updating the BIOS per the motherboard maker's instructions and setting the core frequency to Intel Default Settings, or using Intel XTU to moderately lower the Performance Core Ratio. It applies only to those CPUs, and the XTU change is an advanced step, so it is not a recommendation for everyone.
- 7Contact Customer Service if it continues — If it still crashes, stop force-launching repeatedly and do not replace individual game files. Use the headset icon on the login screen or anywhere in-game, the official site's Support menu then Customer Service, or service@playdeltaforce.com.
What to gather before you write to support
- The launcher you used (Steam, Epic Games Store, official website client or Google Play Games), plus CPU, GPU, RAM, Windows version and graphics-driver version
- Game version, the exact error message, and a screenshot or short video such as the shader-loading screen
- When it started, whether it began after an update, whether it happens on every launch, and what you already tried
- Log folders DeltaForce\launcher\log and Delta Force\DeltaForce\Saved\Logs (both for a shader-loading crash; if a folder is missing, say which launcher and install location you use)
- Do not edit logs, game files or the Windows registry before sending, and leave out passwords, verification or recovery codes and payment information
- For a code that is not in the table, attach a screenshot of the full message rather than trying unrelated fixes
If you also run a recorder
DOR is not a crash fix, and the order above follows only the official guide. Still, because the guide tells you to close overlays and recording tools while troubleshooting a shader-loading crash, a game that only closes while a recorder is running is best tested with that recorder switched off first. Once the game launches reliably, turn recording back on and you can tell which side the problem was on. As DOR's Delta Force support describes, Delta Force gets full-match automatic recording saved as mp4, with no automatic highlight clips. On a PC with an NVIDIA graphics card, DOR encodes with NVENC and captures game sound and microphone together, but while you are troubleshooting, keep recording off until the game opens reliably. For tool options, see our Delta Force clipping software guide.
