Short answer: as of September 28, 2026, KRAFTON has not published an official PUBG rank distribution showing what share of PC Ranked players sits in each tier. What it did add in Update 43.1 (2026.09.09) is a Career > Leaderboard menu that shows your exact rank if you are in the top 500 and your standing as Top N.N% if you are not. Below, you get only what we could confirm in pubg.com patch notes and dev letters: the tier order, Survivor promotion rules and how season resets work, plus a checklist for judging the distribution charts you find elsewhere. Bottom line: no public tier breakdown, one official number
We went through the pubg.com patch notes for Updates 30.1 (2024), 36.1 (2025), 40.1, 42.1 and 43.1 (2026), the Ranked Revamp dev letters and the 2026 Roadmap (2026.03.23). None of them contains a table like 'X% Gold, Y% Diamond'. The Roadmap only says Ranked participation rose compared to 2024, with no figures. That means every PUBG rank distribution chart online comes from a third-party tracker counting the accounts that were looked up on its own site, which makes it a sample estimate, not the full player base. The one official number is yours: open the Ranked leaderboard under Career > Leaderboard and you will see your rank (inside the top 500) or Top N.N% (outside it). The Ranked leaderboard is ordered by Ranked RP and updates every 4 hours. The patch notes say you can pick a season and region, but they do not say whether that percentage is calculated within your region or across all regions (checked September 28, 2026). You also need to have finished every Beginner Training mission and claimed its rewards, or wait until the mission period ends, before you appear in the rankings. Filters to check on any third-party distribution chart
- Season: is it Season 43 data, or does it mix in numbers from before Crystal and Survivor existed (Season 35 and earlier)?
- Region: which region is it based on (AS, KAKAO, SEA, EU, NA)? Even Survivor slots differ by region
- Platform: does it combine PC and console, or show PC on its own?
- Mode and perspective: official tiers have been unified across Duo, Squad, FPP and TPP since Season 36, but a tracker that splits data by mode or perspective is not showing the official tier spread
- Sample coverage: does it only count accounts searched on that site? That is not the whole player base
- Update time: is it an early-season snapshot right after placements, or late-season data?
- Game: is data from PUBG MOBILE, a separate game, mixed in?
What to check before placement matches in a new season
- 1Look up last season's final tier — Season 43 began with Update 43.1 (patch notes dated 2026.09.09). PC live maintenance ran on September 10, 2026 from 00:00 to 08:30 UTC, and console maintenance on September 17 from 01:00 to 09:00 UTC. The leaderboard resets during that maintenance, so check your final tier from the previous season on the Career page. A Season 42 final tier of Gold or higher earns the Ranked Weapon Skin and Ranked Parachute Skin, and Platinum or higher adds a medal.
- 2Read the Ranked section of the new patch notes — Update 43.1 raised the minimum performance requirements for Gold and above in Duo and Solo, and ended TPP Duo in the SA region (checked September 28, 2026). Update 42.1 explained that Season 42 ran for three months because a broader Ranked Revamp and a season-structure redesign are planned, and the 2026 Roadmap says the same. Reread the rules every time a season opens.
- 3Confirm which queues your region has — Queue lineups change piece by piece with each update. For example, 42.1 added a PC AS Ranked Solo (TPP) queue open from 12:00 to 16:00 UTC (checked September 28, 2026). No single official page lists every queue per region, so check the Ranked menu in game.
- 4Expect placement to start from your old RP — Everyone was reset to 1500 RP in Season 36 only. Since Season 37, placement is based on your final RP from the season before. Tier Protection does not apply to placement matches. Since 42.1, final placement carries more weight in RP, and you get +5 RP for Top 4 in two straight matches or +10 RP for a win in two straight matches, with only the highest bonus applied.
- 5Write down your Top N.N% — Once placement is done, open the Ranked leaderboard under Career > Leaderboard, choose the season and region, and note your standing. Because it updates every 4 hours, the number may not move right after a match. Logging it once a week tells you more about your own trend than any outside distribution chart.
Climbing starts with rewatching your matches
After checking the distribution, the next question is usually where you lost placement points. With final placement weighted more heavily since 42.1, the most useful review is your positioning and fight choices in the last two or three circles.
