Roblox Error Code 267 (2026): What It Means and How to Fix an Experience Ban

Key takeaways
  • Error code 267 means the creator of that experience banned your account from it. It is not an account action by Roblox, and other experiences and features keep working (per Roblox's official help, checked October 14, 2026).
  • Roblox Support cannot remove creator bans or contact creators for you. A timed ban ends when its time runs out; to end it sooner, you have to appeal to the creator directly.
  • Error 600 carries the same official description. If the ban feels unfair, write down the time, the situation and the error text, and if you recorded the moment on PC, trim it and send it through the channel the creator names.

Roblox error code 267 does not mean your Roblox account is suspended. Roblox's official help page, checked on October 14, 2026, titles it 'Banned from an Experience': the experience creator banned your account for violating the Roblox Community Standards inside their experience, and the ban was not issued by Roblox. That is why every other experience and feature on the platform keeps working as usual. The flip side is that Roblox cannot lift it for you either. The same page says Roblox Support is unable to remove bans issued directly by experience creators or contact them on your behalf, so the fix runs through the creator. If you were suddenly thrown out of a game with this number on screen, the first job is not to worry about your account but to find that experience's rules and its contact channel. This guide covers what 267 means, how it relates to error 600, which has the same official description, how to tell a one-time kick from a timed ban, and what to put in an appeal to the creator. For other numbers, see the Roblox error codes guide.

Bottom line: 267 is a ban from one experience, and only its creator can lift it early

When you see 267, join a different experience first. If it loads normally, your account is fine and the problem is limited to that one experience. Next, wait a little and try the same experience again. If you get back in, you were most likely removed once rather than banned. According to Roblox's creator documentation, an experience can disconnect a player (Kick) or block a player for a set period (Ban), and creators build and run their own systems for enforcing their rules. A moderator may have removed you by hand, or an automatic rule built into the experience may have done it, and the error window alone does not tell you which. If a window showing the time left and a reason appears when you try to rejoin, it is a ban. If you get thrown out with the same window every time you join, the experience may be blocking you with its own system, so treat that as a ban too and contact the creator. The creator documentation says banned users see the remaining ban time and the creator's reason, that creators choose the duration, and that permanent bans are possible. Bans apply to every place in the experience by default, so joining another server usually does not get you in. To end a ban early you have to appeal to the creator, and once the creator lifts it you can join again right away. If the window instead said 'Lost connection to the game server' or 'Failed to connect to the Game', that is a connection problem, not a ban, so read how to fix Roblox error code 279. An account action from Roblox, shown as a moderation notice when you log in, is a separate matter: you appeal it through Violations & Appeals or the Roblox support form named in the notice, within 30 days of the action (users in the EU get six months).

What to check when error code 267 appears

  1. 1Record the error text and any time leftBefore you close the error window, save what it says. A ban window can show the time left and the reason the creator wrote, and a kick window can also show a message set by the experience. On PC, take a screenshot with a tool such as the Windows Snipping Tool; on a phone, use the device screenshot. Note the date and time, the experience name and what you were doing, so you can reuse it when you contact the creator. If the reason text tells you how to appeal, for example through the game's Discord, follow that first.
  2. 2Join another experience to check your accountGo back to the Roblox home screen and join another experience you play often. If it works, you are banned from that one experience only, exactly as the official help page describes, and your account itself is fine. If you instead see a Roblox moderation notice when you log in, or cannot get into any experience, you may be dealing with a Roblox account action rather than 267. In that case, follow the appeal options in the notice; per the official help page, the account owner must file the appeal within 30 days of the action.
  3. 3Try the same experience again after a whileWait a bit and rejoin the same experience. If you get in, you were removed once rather than banned for a period, so read the experience rules to avoid a repeat. If a window with the time remaining blocks you, the creator banned you for a set period, and you can join again once it passes. If there is no time shown but you keep getting thrown out the moment you join, the experience may be enforcing its own rule, so move on to step 4. In the creator documentation, bans apply to all places and servers in the experience by default, so switching servers or joining a friend's server usually does not help. Reinstalling the app or clearing the cache is not listed as a fix on the official 267 help page.
  4. 4Find the rules and the creator's contact channelLook in the description on the experience details page for rules and contact information. The official help says creators who set custom experience rules must state them clearly somewhere all users can see. For contact, it lists sending a message or chatting on Roblox, posting on the community wall (formerly the group wall) of the community behind the experience, and social media links on the creator's profile, community or experience details page. If the experience runs a Discord server, check whether it posts its own appeal instructions there. The help center also notes that some experiences, such as Adopt Me!, run their own support sites.
  5. 5Write one clear appeal and send it onceIn your message, include your Roblox username, the date and time of the ban with your time zone, the experience name, the text of the error window and what you were doing, then explain in a sentence or two why you think the ban was a mistake. Attach anything that shows the situation, such as screenshots or a recording. Sending one organized message to one channel and waiting for an answer works better than blaming the creator or repeating it everywhere. Whether to lift the ban is the creator's call, and the official help page states that Roblox does not handle appeals for custom experience rule violations.
  6. 6Know what not to do while you waitMaking a new account to get back into the same experience is not recommended. According to the creator documentation, creators can extend a ban to suspected alternate accounts (the ban API does this by default), and on desktop (Windows and macOS) a creator can also block the device from rejoining for 24 hours. Asking Roblox Support to lift the ban will not work, because Support cannot remove creator bans. If you believe the creator's rules or their enforcement break the Community Standards, though, the official documentation says Roblox can review the experience in that case, so you can report the experience itself with Report Abuse.

Telling bans from connection errors by the error window (checked October 14, 2026)

Error Code 267: Banned from an ExperienceThe experience creator banned your account from that experience. It is not a Roblox action.Check that other experiences work, then contact the creator directly.
Error Code 600: Banned from an ExperienceOfficially described the same way as 267. Which situation shows which number is not documented.Contact the creator, as with 267. Users report seeing it when they try to rejoin while banned.

Error Code 268: kicked due to unexpected client behaviorOfficially a network issue or a conflict with another app such as antivirus software. Not a creator ban.Check your connection, add an antivirus exception and reinstall Roblox if needed.
Error Code 277 or 279: lost connection or failed to connectA network connection problem with the game server.Troubleshoot your network. It has nothing to do with a ban.

Before you contact the creator

  • I saved the error code, the message and any time left as a screenshot or note.
  • I confirmed other experiences work, so this is not a Roblox account action.
  • I read the rules in the experience description and thought about whether I broke one.
  • I found the official contact channel on the experience page, community or creator profile (message, community wall, or social links such as Discord).
  • My message includes my username, the date and time with time zone, the experience name, what I was doing and, honestly, whether I used outside tools such as macros.
  • I trimmed any evidence video to the relevant part and did not post footage of other players publicly.
Check whether the ban reason itself explains how to appeal. The creator documentation lets creators add contact directions to ban messages, such as 'Visit the Discord in my group/game page'. Direct links and specific usernames are not allowed in that message, so find the channel yourself from the experience page or community page. Never give your account details to look-alike servers or to anyone who promises to remove a ban.

Keeping a record in case of an unfair ban: record experiences with DOR

To be clear up front: DOR does not fix errors or lift bans, and having a recording does not guarantee a creator will change their decision. But if a ban feels unfair, it is much easier to explain when you can show what happened right before it. Roblox's built-in capture records up to 30 seconds per the official help page, does not record voice or in-experience sound, and only keeps what you started recording yourself. The difference between built-in capture and PC recording is covered in how to record Roblox for longer than 30 seconds. If you play the PC version of Roblox downloaded from roblox.com on Windows, the free DOR app starts recording when you enter an experience and stops when you leave it for the home screen or close Roblox. It is on by default, so there is no record button to press, and you can turn it off in settings. Any experience, regardless of genre or creator, is saved to your library as one full mp4 with no length limit, with game sound and your microphone (with noise suppression) recorded together, so the moments before a ban may already be in that file. If you jump into an experience right after launching Roblox, the first recording can start 15 to 20 seconds after you join. When something happens that you may need to explain later, such as an argument with another player, press F8 (changeable) to save the last 30 seconds as a separate clip (choose 15, 30, 45 or 60 seconds). These hotkey clips only save while you are inside an experience and recording, and how to clip Roblox explains them in detail. To send footage to the creator, trim only the part you need in the library, then share a dor.gg link or attach the mp4 in the channel the creator named. The footage may include other players' names and voices, so send it to the creator only. DOR is Windows PC only and cannot record Roblox on phones, tablets or consoles, so treat it as an option for when you play on PC.

FAQ

FAQ

Does error code 267 go away if I wait?

It depends on the ban length the creator set. Roblox's creator documentation says creators choose the ban duration, permanent bans are possible, and banned users see the time left and the reason. If you see time remaining when you try to rejoin, you can get back in once it passes. For a permanent ban, or to end it early, you have to appeal to the creator, and once they lift it you can rejoin immediately. If you can rejoin right away, it was a one-time removal rather than a ban.

Will Roblox Support lift it, and what happens to things I bought in that experience?

Per the official help pages, Roblox Support cannot remove bans issued by experience creators and cannot contact creators for you. If you are banned under custom experience rules, you may lose access to virtual content you got in that experience, and if the ban lasts more than 14 days, that experience's subscription is canceled automatically without a refund. Creators cannot give Robux or monetary refunds for purchases made on the Roblox platform, so take payment questions to Roblox Customer Support.

Can I get back in with a new account or by reinstalling Roblox?

That is not recommended. The official 267 help page does not list reinstalling or clearing the cache as a fix. The ban is tied to your account, and according to the creator documentation, creators can extend it to suspected alternate accounts (the ban API's default) and, on desktop, also block the device for 24 hours. Appealing to the creator is a safer route than trying to get around the ban.
