Searching for a Break and Steal an Egg guide often mixes in Steal An Egg results, and the names really are close. The experience description even says it was inspired by Steal An Egg. The games play differently, though.
In Steal An Egg you take eggs from pets and train on a treadmill. In Break and Steal an Egg you smash eggs open with a pickaxe, grab the rare animal that hatches, and run it back to your base while guards try to stop you.
Created on September 5, 2026 (UTC), it had passed 331 million visits by November 3 and was #4 on Roblox's Top Playing Now chart with more than 150,000 concurrent players.
This guide sticks to what the creator's official description and Roblox's own experience data confirm: how your first session should go, which of the two upgrades to buy first, how the group reward works, and where it differs from the original. The game updates often, so we skip the prices and odds that fan wikis list.
Bottom line: break, steal, place, upgrade, then repeat
The whole game is a four-step loop. Break an egg with your pickaxe and a rare animal hatches. Steal that animal and carry it back without getting caught by the guards.
Place it in your base and it starts earning cash. Spend the cash on Speed and pickaxe upgrades. More Speed makes it easier to outrun the guards, and a better pickaxe makes breaking eggs easier, so the core strategy is to alternate between the two.
Every animal you collect is logged in the Index, and filling it is the long-term goal. Servers hold up to seven players, and to play with friends you can join the server a friend is already in. To see whether private servers are available, check the Servers tab on the experience page.
A frame drop in the middle of a getaway makes it easy for the guards to catch you, so if the game feels laggy, start with our Roblox FPS boost settings. One more thing worth knowing: the experience has only one official badge, Welcome, which you get for joining.
Your first rare hatch will not show up as a badge, so a video is the most reliable way to keep that moment.
How to start Break and Steal an Egg
- 1Join the right experienceSearch Roblox for Break and Steal an Egg. Several lookalikes show up, so check that the creator is ILGames x Eggs with the verified badge before you join. The original Steal An Egg is made by and Collect Rare Pets, so picking by name alone can drop you into a game with completely different rules.
- 2Break eggs with your pickaxeStep one in the official description is to break eggs to hatch rare animals. Early on, do not wander far: start with the eggs closest to your base while you learn the map and your route home. If a single egg starts taking too long to break, treat that as the sign to upgrade your pickaxe next.
- 3Steal the animal and escape the guardsA hatched animal only starts earning once you place it in your base, and the description says you have to escape the guards on the way. Look at where they are before you grab anything and take the shortest path back. Rare animals hurt the most to lose, so do not chase faraway eggs until your Speed can handle the run.
- 4Place animals in your base to earn cashAnimals in your base earn cash, which is exactly how the official description puts it. That cash pays for every upgrade, so early on it is worth placing each animal as soon as you get it home and building some income before you take on riskier steals.
- 5Upgrade Speed and your pickaxeCash goes into two upgrades. Speed helps you outrun the guards, and the pickaxe helps you break eggs. Pushing only one of them tends to leave you stuck on the other, so alternate: if escapes keep failing, buy Speed; if eggs take forever to crack, buy a better pickaxe.
- 6Fill the Index and claim the free rewardEvery animal you collect goes into the Index, and collecting them all is the goal the description sets. The description also says to like the game and join the group for free rewards, so open the experience page, tap the creator name ILGames x Eggs and join the group inside Roblox. Then follow the in-game instructions to claim the reward.

Record Break and Steal an Egg automatically with DOR and keep your rare hatches
DOR is a free Windows app. Launch Roblox on your PC and join Break and Steal an Egg, and DOR detects it and starts recording on its own, then stops when you leave the experience.
Each experience you join becomes one video in My Clips in the app, so you can find the moment a rare animal hatched or the run where you shook off the guards, trim it in the app, and save it in 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1.
Game audio and your mic go into the same video, so your reaction to a rare hatch stays in sync with the scene.
In DOR Studio you can join several escape clips, add effect templates such as shake zoom and punch zoom, text and background music, then download an mp4 or send a dor.gg link that plays right in a phone browser, which works well in a Discord server or a group chat. The full sharing walkthrough is in how to share Roblox gameplay videos with friends.
Recording defaults to 1080p at 30fps, and 60fps is available on the free plan. As recordings pile up, older videos are only cleared once the full gameplay storage allowance (5GB by default) is exceeded, and recent recordings and videos you liked are kept.
