Illegal Soccer is, in its own words, the world's most popular sport, finally with guns, grappling hooks, jetpacks and more. The description lists pros and cons side by side: the pros are that you can kick, tackle, beat up and blow up your opponents and that there are no referees; the cons are slipping on other players' oil spills and getting shot while you dribble. It is made by the Repotted group and was created on May 12, 2026. On October 20 it showed about 207 million visits, about 279,000 favorites and roughly 49,000 people playing at that moment, with about 86 percent positive votes and an 8 player server size. It was 22nd in Top Playing Now in almost every chart setting we checked and 23rd in the US, and it appeared on Fun with Friends lists in several countries. The country breakdown is in popular Roblox games right now. This guide sticks to the official description, badges and event posts.
The short version: learn the ball without items, add items and curve shots, then go ranked
Illegal Soccer looks like chaos, but the update posts reveal a clear progression. The first big update on September 2 reworked private servers: owners can add bots, set match length, allow friendly fire, tune ball physics such as friction, gravity and bounciness, change movement such as jump height and tackle speed, set kick, pass and lob strength, disable items and use a free camera. On September 8 every goal got a cinematic instant replay, along with free coins every day, 2 free item rolls every week and lobby leaderboards for XP and goals. On September 14 curve shots arrived for every kick and throw, volleys included: start charging a kick and bend it while charging, which on PC means steering with the mouse. On September 19 ranked opened with two queues, Illegal with items and Legal without, each with its own Elo rating. You need 5 owned items to queue, 10 placement matches reveal your rank, and in Illegal matches each team votes to ban one item from the other team. October 3 brought more than 50 achievements, each a real Roblox badge, and October 11 added a grenade and a sledgehammer plus player cards that pop up for everyone when you score. The badge counts tell a story: about 5.58 million players have scored a first goal, but only 1,740 have scored 1,000 goals and only 55 have 1,000 assists. As a new player, learn ball control and curve shots with a Legal mindset, collect items and move to Illegal, then finish in ranked. If you have not recorded Roblox before, start with how to record Roblox gameplay.
Starting Illegal Soccer: do it in this order
- 1Join with the PC version of RobloxOpen the experience in the PC version of Roblox from roblox.com. With DOR installed, recording starts with nothing to press, so your first goal is on video.
- 2Learn ball control and curve shotsBefore items, get a feel for kicks, passes, lobs and dribbling. Bending the direction while you charge a kick turns it into a curve shot.
- 3Collect items through daily rewardsThere are free coins every day and 2 free item rolls every week. Ranked needs 5 owned items, so build them up through the rewards.
- 4Start a club and practice in a private serverYou can create a club from the friends tab, and private servers let you set up bots and physics for the practice you want. If you need teammates, try the Roblox group finder.
- 5Pick one of the two ranked queuesChoose Illegal with items or Legal without, then play your 10 placement matches. If you disconnect, you can rejoin without penalty.
Illegal Soccer moments worth keeping, and what officially backs them
| Moment | What the official sources confirm | How to keep it |
|---|---|---|
| A goal from a curve shot | Since September 14 any kick or volley can be curved. | Press the clip hotkey after the goal to keep the shot and the replay together. |
| Turning a play around with an item | The description lists guns, grappling hooks and jetpacks. | Scrambles run long, so trim with room on both sides from the full recording. |
| Your player card after a goal | Since October 11 a player card pops up for everyone when you score. | Leave the card on screen a few extra seconds before saving. |
| Your 10 ranked placement matches | Ranked reveals your rank after 10 placement matches. | Keep all 10 whole so you can rewatch how your rank was decided. |
| A free camera shot in a private server | Private servers have had a free camera since September 2. | Stage a play with friends, film it with the free camera and cut it in 16:9. |

- You will ask before posting clips with a friend's voice.
Keep every Illegal Soccer match with sound using DOR
All you do is launch Roblox. There is no button to press and nothing to set up: DOR, a free Windows PC app, recognizes the PC version of Roblox and starts AI auto recording the moment you join Illegal Soccer. When you leave to the home screen, that session lands in your library as one mp4. Game audio and your microphone are recorded together on one track, so the shouting with your teammates stays in the file, and AI voice notes log what was said with timestamps so you can jump back to the loudest moments. To keep the curve shot you just scored on its own, press the clip hotkey and the last 30 seconds are saved as a clip, with 15, 30, 45 or 60 seconds to choose from. Recording defaults to 1080p at 30fps, with 60fps available. Pick the clips you saved and press Create highlight, and the AI highlight joins them into one video; trim any part to 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1 and share it with a single dor.gg link. DOR Studio opens right in your browser for text, background music and effect templates. For a newer brawler about shoving rivals out of the ring, see the Cat Battles guide.
