To show a friend the dungeon boss your party just took down in AION 2, or a faction battle in the Abyss, record it with DOR, trim that stretch, and send a link. AION 2 became a DOR 'full-play recording' game in the October 2026 app update. When you launch the game, DOR detects it and keeps everything from launch to exit as one video. The catch is that MMO sessions often last hours. Dailies, town errands, travel, dungeons and the Abyss all end up in one file, so this guide focuses on finding the moments worth showing.
Record all day, or only on the days that matter?
Recording hours of plain grinding every day fills a drive quickly. One approach is to keep AION 2's full-play recording on only for party dungeon or Abyss nights and switch it off in settings the rest of the time. If you want to catch unplanned faction fights too, leave it on and check free space often. General checks for recording long sessions without stutter are in the long gameplay recording guide.
Finding the moment in a long recording and sending it
- 1Check AION 2's recording status in settingsLook in the 'Full-play recording' group in DOR settings to see whether AION 2 is on. If it is, recording starts the moment you launch AION 2 on your Windows PC through automatic detection and continues until you quit.
- 2Note when you enter dungeons or head to the AbyssThe recording has timestamps but no content markers. Jotting down a rough time such as 'about two hours after login' when you enter a dungeon lets you jump the playhead straight to that area later.
- 3Use loading screens as dividersDungeon entry and travel to the Abyss come with loading screens, so the scene change stands out when you scrub quickly. Moving forward from the loading screen to the boss room or the fight makes finding the moment much faster.
- 4Keep aerial scenes in a wide ratioAION 2 combat uses a lot of vertical space, so fights where you change altitude on your wings should be cut in 16:9 to keep the surroundings visible. For a single boss-falls moment, 9:16 works too.
- 5Trim in the library and get a linkOpen the recording in the app library, set start and end with the trim tool, and pick a ratio. When it finishes you get a dor.gg link, and the person you send it to opens the video in a browser without installing the app.
- 6Match the length to your party or LegionSend the full boss fight to a party member who wants to review mechanics with you, and only the 20-30 seconds before the kill when posting in Legion chat. Paste the link into chat or a messenger and you are done.
Finding AION 2 moments in a recording, by content
| Content | Clue in the recording | Who to send it to |
|---|---|---|
| 5-player party dungeon boss | The last stretch after the dungeon loading screen, from the moment you enter the boss room | The party you ran it with, or a friend who asked about the fight |
| 10-player group dungeon | Between the gathering right after entry and the final boss | Everyone from the Legion who came |
| Abyss faction battle | The busiest fighting after the loading screen into the Abyss | Friends who fought on your faction |
| Aerial combat | Around the moment you spread your wings and gain altitude | A friend who has not tried AION 2 yet |
| Shugo Festival minigame | The short span from the minigame start to the result | A friend who wants something light and funny |
Before you send
- AION 2 is set the way I want (on or off) under 'Full-play recording' in settings.
- I noted roughly when I entered the dungeon or went to the Abyss.
- My drive has comfortably more than 20GB free.
- Aerial combat is cut in 16:9 so the surroundings show.
- I chose either the full boss fight or the short kill to suit the person receiving it.
How DOR records AION 2
DOR is a free Windows desktop app. Launch AION 2 and it detects the game and records until you quit as one mp4 video; it does not make automatic highlights split by dungeon or fight. You find the moment in the app library yourself and cut it with the trim tool. Long play fills a drive quickly, and recording stops automatically when free space drops below 20GB. If a recording seems cut short or the file is missing, start with the save path and space checks in how to fix recordings not saving. The trim tool offers 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1, and tips for choosing start and end points are in how to trim game clips. Game sound and your microphone are recorded together, so the calls you make on your mic during the fight stay in the clip.
