If you turned a duel around with a combo in Blade & Soul, or your party handled a tough boss mechanic cleanly for the first time, record with DOR, trim that moment, and send a link. NC's wuxia MMORPG became a DOR 'full-play recording' game in the October 2026 app update. When you launch it, DOR detects the game and keeps everything from login to exit as one video, so dailies, dungeons, duels, and travel across the field all run in order inside one file. This guide covers the cues and cutting rules for finding the scenes that feel most like Blade & Soul: duels, dungeon bosses, combos, and Windwalk.
Separate chore days from big days
Blade & Soul has a lot of daily content, so if you leave recording on, hours pile up. Keep it on for days when something worth saving is likely, like duels or a new dungeon, and switch Blade & Soul's full-play recording off in settings on days you only run chores. That saves both disk space and search time. For general checks when a session runs long, like a night of repeated party dungeons, see the long gameplay recording guide.
Picking moments from a Blade & Soul recording and sending them
- 1Confirm it's being recorded, then log inIn DOR settings, check that Blade & Soul is on under 'full-play recording' and that you have comfortably more than 20GB of free disk space, then log in. Automatic detection starts recording, and it runs until you close the game.
- 2For duels, find the stretch between two transitionsThe screen transitions when you enter a duel and again when you return, so in the recording one match sits between those two points. Scrub to find them, then decide whether to keep only the final exchange or the whole match.
- 3Use the boss health bar as your landmark in dungeonsWhen a boss fight starts, its health bar appears at the top of the screen, and it disappears when the boss dies. Rewind from the moment it vanishes to where the last mechanic begins, and the kill won't drag.
- 4For strategy clips, cut a failure and a successIf the clip is for a party member going in for the first time, cut the same mechanic from a wipe and from the successful pull. Seen side by side, they show where to reposition faster than any explanation.
- 5Keep the skill bar visible in combo clipsA class combo is all about the order of skills, so the skill bar at the bottom of the screen needs to show. A 9:16 cut can clip both ends of the bar, so use 16:9 and start one or two seconds before the chain.
- 6Follow the character vertically for WindwalkWindwalk puts one character moving big across the middle of the screen, so it suits vertical 9:16. Pick a stretch with little UI and cut 15 to 20 seconds, and even a friend who doesn't play gets the feel of it.
- 7Paste the link in your clan chatOnce trimmed, a video can be shared as a dor.gg link. Paste it into your clan group chat or party messenger, and whoever gets it plays it right away in a browser, no app required.
Blade & Soul content: finding the moment and who gets it
| Content | Cue in the recording | Recipient and ratio |
|---|---|---|
| Duel win | The stretch between the screen transitions into and out of the arena | A friend you duel with, the full match in 16:9 |
| Party dungeon boss kill | Where the boss health bar appears at the top and then disappears | Your party, last mechanic to the kill in 16:9 |
| Handling a hard mechanic | Party health dropping sharply and then recovering | Next week's party, 30 to 60 seconds in 16:9 |
| Class combo chain | Skill bar icons going on cooldown one after another | Clanmates on the same class, 5 to 10 seconds in 16:9 |
| Windwalk run | Leaping from high ground and crossing the terrain | A friend on a break from the game, 15 to 20 seconds in 9:16 |
| New region scenery | The view opening up as you first arrive somewhere | Family or friends, 10 to 15 seconds in 1:1 |

How DOR records Blade & Soul
DOR is a free Windows desktop app. When you launch Blade & Soul, it detects the game and records one mp4 until you close it; it doesn't cut duel wins or boss kills out as automatic highlights. Find the moment in the app library, set start and end with the trim tool, choose 16:9, 9:16, or 1:1, and a dor.gg link is created. For setting start points on moments where a few seconds matter, like short combos, see how to trim game clips. To join a failed and a successful attempt into one video, or add effect templates and text to a combo, use DOR Studio in your browser with no install; its features are covered in the DOR browser clip editor. You can download the finished video as an mp4 or share it as a link. On PCs with an NVIDIA graphics card, NVENC hardware encoding is the default, and game sound and your mic are recorded together.
