The short answer: escapes are a Speed check, and Speed comes from the treadmill and your pets
Boil the official description down and the loop is steal, run, open, earn, grow. You grab a cage from a sleeping boss, then sprint home to your barn before the boss catches you.
The official badges count each of these as an escape without getting caught, so escapes are where most sessions succeed or stall, and Speed decides them. The description names two ways to get faster: training on the treadmill and riding your pets.
If you keep getting caught, hold off on farther biomes, put time and cash into the treadmill first, and switch to a faster pet as soon as you open one. Spend what your barn earns on treadmill and barn upgrades. Rebirth is safe for your collection, since the description says you keep all your pets.

The title may carry an event tag such as a pumpkin emoji, so check that the creator is the verified group Snail Riders before you join. A similarly named game, Steal A Pet by Dropout Interactive, is a separate experience with its own progress and rules.
- 2Steal a cage from a sleeping bossThe first line of the official how to play is to steal cages from sleeping bosses. The World 2 announcement promised a new boss on every planet, so the boss guarding the cages changes as you move between areas. The official badges confirm Secret pets and Singularity pets, which the badge text calls the rarest there is.

Use your cash to upgrade the treadmill and the barn, and switch mounts whenever a faster pet shows up. Reach 1 million Speed and you unlock the Speed Demon. badge, whose description jokes that bosses had better wake up faster.
- 6Push into World 2 and rebirthThere are now 20 biomes across 2 worlds. World 2 added biomes such as the Moon, Ocean, Crystal, Shadow, Storm and the Black Hole, plus a second barn and barn skins. Reaching World 2 gives the Galaxy Explorer badge, and reaching the Black Hole, the very last biome, gives the Black Hole badge. Rebirth grants big boosts and you keep all your pets.

- For the free Legendary pet, you joined the Snail Riders community from the creator name on the experience page inside Roblox, and you did not sign in to any outside site with your Roblox account.
- Friends are with you for bonus cash. Servers hold up to 7 players, and you can team up by joining the server a friend is already in.
- You know the timing: Halloween Part 2 ends at 10:00 AM ET (7:00 AM PT) on November 8, and a Mini Games update event, with pet races, is scheduled for the same time.
