Lineage II records automatically once DOR is installed: launch the game and the AI handles recording. There is no record button to press. From the moment you log in until you quit, the time you spend between hunting grounds, instances and sieges ends up in one video, clan voice and the din of battle included. This guide walks you through it in order: installing DOR, checking the recording, saving siege and enchant moments, finding them later, building a clan video and sharing it. Even a siege that lasts hours can be rewatched from the first wave, so you never need to guess when the decisive moment will come.
- Keep a siege with hundreds of clan members at the gates of Giran on video, from gathering to the final cleanup.
- Save the breath holding moment of a big enchant success, or a successful castle seal, as a separate clip.
- Use AI Voice Notes to find clan leader calls like 'gate's open, sealers go in' and jump straight to that moment.
- Combine a Tower of Insolence party, a field PvP duel and a raid boss kill into a clan recruitment video.
Before you record Lineage II: install and recording mode
Lineage II is light on hardware, so running a recorder alongside it barely touches hunting or sieges. DOR is a free Windows app and never adds a watermark, which makes it easy to post clan recruitment videos to YouTube as they are. Lineage II uses full session recording, so restocking in town and moving between hunting grounds and instances does not break the video. It keeps going until you close the game. Siege days run for hours from gathering to cleanup, so read recording long gameplay without stutter ahead of time. The table below lists what is worth knowing before your first Lineage II recording.
| Item | For Lineage II | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Install | DOR, free Windows app | No watermark, so clan videos go up as they are |
| Game version | Windows PC version | DOR records Lineage II running on your PC |
| Recording mode | Full session recording | One video from login to exit, unbroken as you move between hunting grounds and instances |
| Display mode | Fullscreen, windowed and borderless all record | Windowed Lineage II with your clan Discord beside it still records |
| Resolution and frame rate | 1080p at 30fps by default | 60fps for smoother large scale siege fights, or the lighter 720p/30fps mode |
| Storage | About 30MB for a 30 second 1080p clip | Siege days record for hours, so clear plenty of drive space |
Record Lineage II with DOR: step by step
- 1Install DOR ahead of timeDownload and install DOR. It takes about a minute and is free. Leave it running, and you will never scramble to open a recorder right before the siege gathers.
- 2Log in to Lineage IIStart Lineage II from your usual launcher and pick a character. As soon as DOR detects the game, recording begins, so everything from buffing and restocking in town is captured.
- 3Check the recording before gatheringBefore you head to the siege gathering point, glance at the DOR app once to confirm the recording. If nothing starts, follow what to do when the recorder does not detect your game. After that, just listen to your clan leader.
- 4Clip right after the decisive momentPress the clip save shortcut right after the gate falls, the castle seal succeeds or an enchant result appears. The last stretch is saved as a clip, so you never have to dig through a siege recording that runs for hours.
- 5Log out and open My ClipsWhen the siege is over, close the game. The full session and every clip you saved appear together in My Clips in the DOR app. The day you took the castle and the day you were pushed back at the gate are filed the same way.
Find your recordings
Your recordings live in My Clips in the DOR app, also called the library. Each login to logout becomes one session, and clips saved with the shortcut appear underneath it. To find scenes inside a long siege session, think back to when announcements like 'gather' or 'push' appeared in clan chat and jump to around that time. Scrub quickly along the timeline and you will spot points where characters and skill effects suddenly crowd the screen. Skip the stretches of pure travel and rewind around those points. Set a start and an end point to trim what you need, then export as 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1. The full steps are in how to trim game clips. Like the siege where you took the castle. When space fills up, older videos you have not liked are cleared first, so that record stays.
Save the moments you want to keep
A siege runs for hours, but the moments that decide it last a few dozen seconds. Even with everything recorded, clipping those moments where they happen makes building a clan video much faster. Press the clip save shortcut and the last stretch is saved as a clip. The default length is 30 seconds, and you can choose 15, 30, 45 or 60 seconds in settings. In Lineage II, good times to press it are right after the gate falls, right after the castle seal succeeds, right after you win a field PvP duel, and right after a raid boss goes down. Enchant results come instantly, so 15 seconds is enough. For long fights like defending the seal, set 60 seconds so the final hold is included. See saving the last few seconds instantly for which length suits which moment.
Find what was said with AI Voice Notes
In a siege, clan leader calls pour in over Discord. Lines like 'gate's open, sealers go in', 'healers back, they're focusing you' and 'how high up the Tower are we going?' never stop. DOR records game audio and your mic together, and AI Voice Notes writes clan leader calls and party chatter onto the recording timeline as text. If 'sealers go' was the turning point of the siege, selecting that one line in the timeline takes you right there. The 'enchanting now, everyone hold your breath' moment is found the same way. To record your clan's voices as well, see recording Discord call audio.
Build a montage with AI Highlight
Once the siege is done, turn saved clips into a clan record. In the library, check the Giran gate breach, the castle seal, the Tower of Insolence party, the field PvP duel and the raid boss kill, then select AI Highlight. DOR joins them into one montage. Add the big enchant success at the end and the week's clan news fits in one video. To set the order yourself, see how to merge game clips.
Edit in DOR Studio
DOR Studio opens in your browser with nothing to install. Join only the decisive scenes from a siege recording and you have a recruitment video. Put text like 'Gate breach' and 'Seal defense' between scenes, add your clan name and a music track, and export in 16:9. A shake zoom when the gate collapses and glitch transitions between scenes bring out the tension. Short moments like enchant results also work well as 9:16 shorts. Download the finished video as an mp4 or share it as a link straight away.
Share with a dor.gg link
Send trimmed moments as dor.gg links. Whoever opens one plays it in the browser without installing anything, so posting the siege highlight link in your clan Discord is all it takes. Clan members who could not log on that night can see how the siege went from the same link. Tips on picking only gate breaches and enchant moments out of clan war recordings are in sharing Lineage 2 siege videos, and posting to Discord is covered in sharing clips on Discord.
Lineage II recommended settings and troubleshooting
The default 1080p at 30fps already captures characters and skill effects clearly in Lineage II. If you want hundreds of players clashing in a siege to look smoother, switch to 60fps. On an older PC or a laptop, use the 720p/30fps mode to cut the load. Fullscreen, windowed and borderless windows all record, so keep the game's display settings as they are. Where anti cheat blocks game capture, DOR switches to monitor capture and keeps recording. DOR uses GPU hardware encoding, so the cost stays low even in large scale battles. Siege days pile up big files, so to move recordings to a roomier drive, see changing the recording save location. DOR has no cheat features and never touches your game files or character data.
| Symptom | What to check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Clan voice or battle sounds are missing | Your Windows output device and DOR audio settings | Confirm which device the game and Discord play through, then work through [fixing game recordings with no sound](game-recording-no-sound-fix). |
| Fullscreen records as a black screen | The game's display mode and the capture method | Try windowed mode, or follow [fixing fullscreen recording](fullscreen-recording-not-working) to change to monitor capture. |
| The picture stutters in siege fights | Recording resolution and frame rate | GPU hardware encoding keeps the impact small, but if your PC still struggles, drop to 720p/30fps mode. |
| Worried a recorder could get your account flagged | How DOR works | DOR only captures the screen, has no cheat features and does not modify game files or character data. |
