Diablo II: Resurrected records automatically once DOR is installed: launch the game and the AI handles recording. There is no record button to press. From the moment the game opens until you close it, your whole farming session, Meph runs, Baal runs and the Secret Cow Level included, ends up in one video. Recording never breaks when you make a new game, so you can run the same boss dozens of times without thinking about it. This guide walks through the routine in order: installing DOR, checking the recording, saving drops, finding them later, building a loot reel and sharing the proof. When that Ber rune drops, it is already on video.
- Keep a whole farming session in one video, however many Meph and Baal runs you do before closing the game.
- Save the moment an orange rune drops, or the Enigma runeword you just finished, as a separate clip.
- Use AI Voice Notes to find party chat like 'Chaos next game?' and check which run it came from.
- Combine plowing through the Cow Level, a Pindleskin one shot and a Hell Diablo kill into a loot short.
Before you record Diablo II: Resurrected: install and recording mode
Diablo II: Resurrected is light on hardware, so running a recorder next to it needs almost no preparation. DOR is a free Windows app and never adds a watermark, so loot proof videos stay clean right to the corners. D2R uses full session recording, so leaving and creating games over and over still stays one video until you close the client. If you run on an older PC or a laptop, also read recording games on a low end PC. The table below lists what is worth knowing before your first D2R recording.
| Item | For Diablo II: Resurrected | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Install | DOR, free Windows app | No watermark, so clips work as clean loot proof |
| Game version | Windows PC version on Steam | DOR records Diablo II: Resurrected running on your PC |
| Recording mode | Full session recording | One video from launch to exit, not cut each time you make a new game |
| Display mode | Fullscreen, windowed and borderless all record | Windowed D2R with a runeword list beside it still records |
| Resolution and frame rate | 1080p at 30fps by default | 60fps for smoother teleport runs, or the lighter 720p/30fps mode |
| Storage | About 30MB for a 30 second 1080p clip | Leave plenty of drive space on weekends of back to back runs |
Record Diablo II: Resurrected with DOR: step by step
- 1Get DOR readyDownload and install DOR. It takes about a minute and is free. Leave it running, and you never have to open a recorder before starting your runs.
- 2Open Diablo II: ResurrectedStart Diablo II: Resurrected from Steam and pick a character. As soon as DOR detects the game, recording begins, so everything from making your first game and walking into town is captured.
- 3Check the recording before the first runBefore you take the first waypoint, glance at the DOR app once to confirm the recording. If nothing starts, follow what to do when the recorder does not detect your game. After that, focus on run speed.
- 4Clip right after the dropPress the clip save shortcut right after Mephisto falls and an orange rune hits the ground, or right after you socket the last rune of an Enigma. The last 30 seconds are saved as a clip, so you never have to dig through dozens of runs to find it.
- 5Quit and open My ClipsWhen you are done farming, close the client. The full session and every clip you saved appear together in My Clips in the DOR app. The day a Ber dropped and the day nothing dropped are filed the same way.
Find your recordings
Your recordings live in My Clips in the DOR app, also called the library. Each time you open and close D2R becomes one session, and drops saved with the shortcut appear underneath it as separate clips. To find a particular run inside a long session, use the loading screen that appears every time you make a new game. It splits the session into runs cleanly. Runs look alike, so clipping right after a drop is the most reliable marker. Set a start and an end point to trim what you need, then export as 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1. The full steps are in how to trim game clips. Like the videos you want to keep, such as your Ber drop. When space fills up, older videos you have not liked are cleared first, so that moment stays.
Save the moments you want to keep
In repetitive farming, most runs look the same and the drop lasts a second. Even with the whole session recorded, clipping on the spot when something drops saves you from searching through dozens of runs later. Press the clip save shortcut and the last stretch is saved as a clip. The default length is 30 seconds, and you can pick 15, 30, 45 or 60 seconds in settings. In D2R, good times to press it are right after an orange rune hits the ground, right after a unique drops, right after you complete a runeword, and right after Hell Diablo goes down. A drop only needs 15 seconds. If you want the Baal wave clear as well, raise it to 60. See saving the last few seconds instantly for which length fits which moment.
Find what was said with AI Voice Notes
Party runs mean lines like 'orange rune just dropped', 'Chaos next game?', 'that's everything for Enigma' and 'one more Pindle and I'm done' over Discord all night. DOR records game audio and your mic together, and AI Voice Notes writes that chat onto the recording timeline as text. If you lose track of which Baal run someone found an item on, find 'rune just dropped' in the timeline text and select it to jump straight to the moment. Trade talk is kept in text too, which helps when you need to check it later. To record your party's voices as well, see recording Discord call audio.
Build a montage with AI Highlight
Once your farming history piles up, turn saved clips into a loot reel. In the library, check the Ber rune off Mephisto, the Baal wave clear, plowing through the Cow Level, the Enigma runeword and the Hell Diablo kill, then select AI Highlight. DOR joins them into one montage. Bundling them at the end of a season gives you one video of how that season's character came together. To set the order yourself, see how to merge game clips.
Edit in DOR Studio
DOR Studio opens in your browser with nothing to install. Put a punch zoom on the moment the item hits the ground and label the rune with text. Export loot shorts in 9:16 and full runs in 16:9, and use a shake zoom on Pindleskin going down in one hit. Vertical framing tips are in recording games for vertical Shorts. Download the finished video as an mp4 or share it as a link straight away.
Share with a dor.gg link
Send trimmed moments as dor.gg links. Whoever opens one plays it in the browser without installing anything, so one link proves the Ber drop to your Discord friends, no screenshot needed. Loot shorts go straight to YouTube or TikTok with no logo in the corner. Tips on cutting only the drops out of repeated boss run recordings are in sending D2R rune drop videos, and posting to Discord is covered in sharing clips on Discord.
Diablo II: Resurrected recommended settings and troubleshooting
The default 1080p at 30fps already captures item names on the ground and rune colors clearly in D2R. For smoother teleport runs, switch to 60fps. If you run for hours on a laptop, the 720p/30fps mode keeps the load down. Fullscreen, windowed and borderless windows all record, so keep the game's display settings as they are. DOR uses GPU hardware encoding, so its effect on your run speed is small. Weekend farming makes long sessions and big files, so use reducing game recording file size to balance quality and size. DOR has no cheat features and never touches your game files or character data.
| Symptom | What to check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Rune drop sounds or party chat are missing | Your Windows output device and DOR audio settings | Confirm which device the game and Discord play through, then work through [fixing game recordings with no sound](game-recording-no-sound-fix). |
| Fullscreen records as a black screen | The game's display mode and the capture method | Switch to borderless, or follow [fixing fullscreen recording](fullscreen-recording-not-working) to change to monitor capture. |
| Item names on the ground look blurry | Recording resolution | If you are using the 720p mode, switch back to the default 1080p. |
| Worried a recorder could affect your account | How DOR works | DOR only captures the screen, has no cheat features and does not modify game files or character data. |
