Bloons TD 6 records automatically once DOR is installed: launch the game and the AI takes care of it. You never have to press a record button or draw a capture area before the first red bloon hits the track. DOR detects the game and keeps one continuous video covering the map and difficulty select, the quiet setup where you place and upgrade towers, the late game MOAB waves and the victory screen. When you close the game, the recording stops. Tower defense alternates between calm setup and moments when the screen fills with bloons, so the same game can become proof of a clear or a full strat depending on what you keep. This guide walks through installing DOR, saving moments, finding co op chatter, making a strat recap, sharing a link, and low spec settings and fixes.
- Keep a Bloons TD 6 game that takes hours in one video, from round 1 to holding CHIMPS round 100.
- Save the moment your Paragon upgrade completes or a boss bloon goes down with the clip save shortcut.
- Use AI Voice Notes to find the round in a co op map where someone said "Upgrade the Monkey Village now".
- Combine stopping the DDT rush, melting a BAD and the round 100 hold into a strat recap a few minutes long.
- Send your Impoppable victory screen to a friend as proof with a single dor.gg link.
Before you record Bloons TD 6: install and recording mode
Bloons TD 6 is fairly light, so recording runs smoothly even at minimum spec. DOR is a free Windows app and never puts a watermark on your videos, so your tower placements stay readable with nothing stamped over the map. It uses full session recording: the file is not split when a game ends, and if you play several maps in one day, they all continue in one recording. There is no recording time limit either, so long CHIMPS runs and deep freeplay record attempts are kept to the end. If you play on a laptop or an older desktop, also read recording games on a low end PC. The table below lists what to check before your first recording.
| Item | For Bloons TD 6 | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Install | DOR, free Windows app | No watermark on your videos |
| Game version | Windows PC version on Steam | Detected automatically when the game launches |
| Recording mode | Full session recording | Not split when a game ends; one video until you close the game |
| Display mode | Fullscreen, windowed and borderless all record | Keep whichever mode you already use in the game's settings |
| Resolution and frame rate | 1080p at 30fps by default, 60fps available | Light enough to run smoothly at minimum spec, with a lighter 720p/30fps mode too |
| Storage | About 30MB for a 30 second 1080p clip | Leave plenty of free space if you play several 100 round games |
Record Bloons TD 6 with DOR: step by step
- 1Install DORDownload and install DOR. It takes about a minute and is free. Leave DOR running once it is installed, and there is nothing to prepare even when you start a daily challenge or a new map.
- 2Launch Bloons TD 6Start Bloons TD 6 from Steam. DOR begins recording as soon as it detects the game, so it is normal for the map and difficulty select screens to be in the recording.
- 3Check that recording is runningBefore you place your first tower, glance at the DOR app once to confirm recording is in progress. If the game is not picked up, follow what to do when the recorder does not detect your game. After that, place your monkeys and start the rounds as usual.
- 4Save the clip right after a key roundWhen your Paragon upgrade completes or a BAD that filled the screen melts away, press the clip save shortcut right after. The last 30 seconds are saved as a separate clip, so you never have to scrub through a game that lasted hours.
- 5Close the game and open My ClipsAfter the victory screen, close the game. The full session video and every clip you saved appear together in My Clips in the DOR app. Games where you leaked your last lives are kept the same way.
Find your recordings
Your recorded games are in My Clips in the DOR app, also called the library. Each time you open and close Bloons TD 6 becomes one session, and moments you saved during play show up as separate clips. To find a particular game inside a long session, split it at the map select screen and the victory or defeat screen. Within a game, the round counter in the top right corner is the best landmark, so even a vague memory like "stopped the DDTs around round 80" gets you there quickly. Set a start and an end point to trim the part you need, then export as 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1. Trimming tips are in how to trim game clips. Like the videos you want to keep, such as your first CHIMPS clear. When space fills up, older videos you have not liked are cleared first, so liked games stay put.
Save the moments you want to keep
Even with the whole game recorded, saving key moments as clips on the spot makes them much easier to find. Press the clip save shortcut and the last stretch of gameplay is saved as a clip. The default length is 30 seconds, and you can choose 15, 30, 45 or 60 seconds in settings. In Bloons TD 6, good times to press it are right after a Paragon upgrade completes, right after a BAD melts before it reaches the exit, right after a boss bloon's health runs out, and right after camo detection holds off a DDT rush. Long rounds like round 100 fit better at 60 seconds, so the clip runs from the start of the round to the last pop; a quick victory screen for proof needs only 15. To pick the right length for each kind of moment, see saving the last few seconds instantly.
Find what was said with AI Voice Notes
Co op maps turn every round into a planning meeting. Lines like "DDTs next round, got camo detection", "Upgrade the Monkey Village now", "BAD incoming, spend everything" and "Selling all for the Paragon" go back and forth constantly. DOR records game audio and your microphone together, and AI Voice Notes writes what was said onto the recording timeline as text. To find the round where you agreed who was buying the Village, or when you decided to sell everything for the Paragon, search the timeline text for "Paragon" or "Village" and select it to jump straight to that moment. It works like a game plan the next time you run the same map. If your own voice sounds quiet, check your input device with recording games with mic audio.
Build a montage with AI Highlight
To boil a long game down to a few minutes of what mattered, use AI Highlight. In the library, check stopping the DDT rush, the Paragon upgrade completing, melting a BAD, the boss bloon going down and the CHIMPS round 100 hold, then select AI Highlight. DOR joins them into one strat recap. Add the Impoppable victory screen at the end and the proof is built in. If you would rather place clips in round order yourself, see how to merge game clips.
Edit in DOR Studio
DOR Studio opens in your browser with nothing to install. Trim down to the placement moments and put tower names and crosspaths on screen as text, and you have a strat video viewers can follow step by step. Try a punch zoom when the final round's bloons pop all at once, and a shake zoom when the Paragon comes online. Export strats that need the whole map visible in 16:9, and victory proof as a 9:16 Short. Export formats are covered in exporting clips. When you are done, download an mp4 or share it as a link straight away.
Share with a dor.gg link
Send trimmed moments as dor.gg links. Whoever opens the link plays the video right in the browser without installing anything, even if they do not own the game. Send a strat video with readable tower placements to a friend stuck on the same map, or post your Impoppable victory screen in the Discord server where you grind achievements together. Tips on cutting separate proof and strat versions are in sending Bloons TD 6 clear videos, and posting to Discord is covered in sharing clips on Discord.
Bloons TD 6 recommended settings and troubleshooting
Bloons TD 6 is fairly light, so the default 1080p at 30fps already captures the map and towers clearly. If you want late game rounds where projectiles fill the screen to look smoother, switch to 60fps. If you play hour long games on a laptop, the 720p/30fps mode keeps the load low. Fullscreen, windowed and borderless all record, so leave the game's display settings as they are. DOR uses GPU hardware encoding, so its effect on your frame rate is small. For stable recordings of very long games like freeplay record attempts, read recording long gameplay without stutter. DOR has no cheat features and never touches your game files or play data.
| Symptom | What to check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The recording is a black screen | The display mode in the game's settings | All three display modes record. If it is still black, switch to monitor capture in DOR settings and make a short test recording. |
| Pop sounds are missing | Your Windows output device and DOR audio settings | Confirm which device the game plays through, then work through [fixing game recordings with no sound](game-recording-no-sound-fix). |
| Late rounds stutter while recording | Recording resolution and frame rate | GPU hardware encoding keeps the impact small, but if your PC still struggles, drop to 720p/30fps mode. |
| Several 100 round games make huge files | Recording resolution and free drive space | Save only key rounds as clips and adjust settings with [reducing game recording file size](reduce-game-recording-file-size). |
| Worried a recorder could affect your account | How DOR works | DOR only captures the screen, has no cheat features and does not modify game files or play data. |
